Chikar Chanay Method in English

  • Mash half a cup of boiled gram, boiled potato in a bowl and set aside.
  • Add cooking oil, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, cumin powder, black pepper, green cardamom and mix well.
  • Then add the curd, ginger garlic paste and mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Now add mashed potatoes + gram, mix well and cook for 8-10 minutes.
  • Add two and a half cups of boiled gram and mix well.
  • Add water and mix well.
  • Add the crushed red chiles and mix well.
  • Cover and cook over medium heat for 6-8 minutes.
  • Add dried mango powder, black pepper powder to the water and mix well, and mix well by adding it to the gram jar.
  • Add fresh coriander and ginger.
  • Garnish with green chiles, fresh cilantro, ginger and serve!
